Secretly I want to be a redhead...

With a beautiful pale skin and poisonous green eyes,
seriously.
< /randomness >

Recently I saw adaptation, a spike jonze movie with Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep,
both not my favorite actors, but here they were actually pretty good.
The movie is all about Charlie Kaufman, who's trying to write a screenplay for the book 'the orchid thief'.
(this movie made me appreciate orchids ,totally )
He wants a movie about flowers, no complicated plots, characters who undergo big changes, high speed car chases or dramatic romances ... just flowers. He ends up in writing a movie about himself while writing a movie, clever.
As I stated before, i don't like Meryl Streep , except in this movie, she really has some good lines
like :
" There are too many ideas and things and people. Too many directions to go. I was starting to believe the reason it matters to care passionately about something, is that it whittles the world down to a more manageable size. "

or when she's panicking : "I want to be a baby again. I want to be new. I WANT TO BE NEW. "

This made me think, about re-starting life, how I would change it (hence the redhead thing).
What I wished is that I had a life in every epic era in history , how marvelous that would be!
I would start in the Roman era , for they are way cooler than the greeks . point.
The renaissance would follow, I still would be settled in Italy, Venice, or Florence maybe.
Than a big time jump for 18th century France, to see the revolution.
I also would go to 19th century London, to see the industrialization , and for Victorian fashion ...obviously .
To end with the 20th century ,every decade is so different and fascinating : hippie sixties, new wave 80's ...
I wished I had seen them all .

And the Red queen's "Off with her head"

Platoon ,
I love this film I really do.
I saw it for the second time yesterday ,the first time must have been approximately 10 years ago.
Back then I saw it with my dad , without subtitles , the plot was a mystery ( as an 8 year old my english wasn't exactly good) but still the movie left an in-erasable impression. The death of Elias, it was quite shocking back then (and it still was now).

Now I re-watched it and understood it I have to say it's the best vietnam movie ever made ,
even better than full metal jacket ( being better than a kubrick movie , that's a marvelous achievement).
The great thing about it is the atmosphere, there is a full time tension, and a deep sense of pointlessness . this is accompanied with an amazingly fitting soundtrack : Adagio for strings

There is also the scene in the bunker, with the soldiers chilling and getting high, when you see it you'll wish you were there too.
Sgt. Elias blows smoke trough a gun with White rabbit playing on the background. As by magic Taylor's neck pain is gone , mine would be too in such a small place with that many drug gasses circulating :p.
Now hearing White rabbit got me into Jefferson airplane , they're amaaazing(hence the blogtitle).
So I went to buy "surrealistic pillows today , they're most famous lp(now cd).
I'm really getting into 60's music lately, it fits the weather and the season.

Who loves the sun

Finally, the weather is changing in a good way, it's getting warmer , brighter.
And the last weeks have been a thrill,
We had some cool Biomedica activities, I really had fun and feel like finally fitting in the"University life".
My future looks a lot more clear now for some reason, I can't really put my finger on it, my head it's just...calmer.
Even tough I have no clue what I'll be doing next year.

But we do not forget the past, there has been a High school reunion, which was pleasant.
Seeing everyone, it was quite odd, but really fun. And there will always be some nostalgia for that period, although it wasn't my most easy one.

Now this is getting way to serious, to finish: I have a final tattoo design yay.
It will be the Aladdin Sane lightning on my wrist as an ultimate tribute to Mr. David Bowie, my (musical) Hero.
